They were married on 17 Feb 1911 at Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Charles went first to Canada in 1906 as you correctly write, and gained Canadian citizenship. When he returned to Scotland, and how he came to marry Mary Jane is as yet unclear. The manifest for the 1906 journey also names Peter Duguid and Alex Duguid as fellow passengers. Peter is undoubtedly his brother (later in Vancouver), Alex currently unidentified but definitely not his brother.
